DEI & Student Success

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) matters when it comes to student success.  Success happens in an environment that recognizes individual strengths, and promotes safety, respect, fairness and opportunities to participate.

I will review policies thoroughly and with a DEI lens and foster accountability for the success of all students in all of our schools.

Diversity means that we recognize the variety of strengths, styles and needs of students and marshal the diverse supports needed to help students flourish..

Equity at an individual student level means providing the supports and environment that a student needs to be successful.

Inclusion means that students have opportunities for meaningful participation in daily school activities.  As a society we have often underestimated the ways individuals can achieve sucess given the chance and the right supports,
